Along with the colder temperatures, very light snow showers are expected today.
As for timing, most of the snow showers should occur starting late morning in southern Illinois, into western Kentucky by early afternoon.
The National Weather Service in Paducah says accumulation could range from a trace for most, up to half an inch in some places.
With the colder ground temperatures than a week ago, any snow could stick immediately. Slick conditions could develop on untreated roads and elevated surfaces like bridges and overpasses.
