Temperatures will climb well above normal throughout the Quad State Monday through Wednesday. Winds will not be very strong, but afternoon relative humidity will be low through Tuesday.

The warm conditions will continue through Friday when a strong storm system will arrive and bring showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall and possibly some severe storms through Saturday.

The first of two rain events arrives mid week. A few thunderstorms are not out of the question near the Missouri/Arkansas border Wednesday night. Rainfall with the system will be less than a tenth of an inch.

A more significant system will arrive for late week. Temperatures will reach well into the 70s Friday, with the chance for some strong to possibly severe thunderstorms.

The Storm Prediction Center already has our entire forecast area included in a slight chance of severe weather, part of the overall area of concern from Louisiana all the way to southeast Iowa.

Rainfall amounts from Friday afternoon into Saturday evening could range from around three-quarters of an inch in the Ozark Foothills of Missouri, to 2 to 2.5 inches across most of western Kentucky.
