KYTC District 1 crews in Crittenden, Livingston and Lyon counties are in clean-up mode following today's winter storm and cutting down ice-laden trees that have fallen into the roadways.

Crews can hear trees popping as branches are weighted down with ice.

KYTC is working with local utility companies and fire departments to clear roadways as quickly and safely as possible when power lines are involved.

KY 819 in Lyon County is blocked near the 5 MM due to a tree tangled in a power line.

Another roadway in Lyon County that is impacted is KY 373.

KY 1271 in Lyon County is open at the 1 MM and the roadway is clear after a tree was removed earlier.

In most cases, the downed trees will be temporarily pushed off the side of the roadway to allow the roadway to reopen sooner and traffic to continue moving through the area. Crews will return in a few days to finish tree removal.

The Lyon County Maintenance Facility is currently without power.
