A woman is in custody after a collision in the McCracken County courthouse parking lot led to a drug arrest on Thursday afternoon.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and court security officers responded to the collision involving a vehicle operated by Ginger Whitfield.

They said Whitfield and a passenger in the vehicle, later identified as 29-year-old Kelsey Collins, fled on foot.

Authorities said illegal narcotics and paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

Collins was located by Paducah Police and found to have a warrant for her arrest. Collins was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Whitfield was reportedly suspected to be operating the vehicle under the influence of an unknown substance. Whitfield was cited to court due to injuries sustained in the collision.

Whitfield was cited for wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, and possession of a controlled substance.
