Another Paducah man arrested after tip from Google about child porn

A Paducah man is in custody after another digital crime tip led to the discovery of child pornography.

According to the Paducah Police Department, on Wednesday officers arrested 58-year-old Steven E. Scott after detectives confirmed he was in possession of material involving children under 12 years old.

Detectives started their investigation after receiving a cybercrime tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. That organization reported more than 60 images depicting children in sexual performance stored on a Google subscriber account belonging to Scott.

Officers arrested Scott, charging him with possession or viewing of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under 12 years old.

Scott was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.

This was the second digital crime tip in a week. Last Saturday, another Paducah man was reported by Google to have sexually explicit videos in a Google Photos account.
