Search underway for domestic violence offender in Lyon County

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office said a search is underway for a domestic violence offender who fled from authorities.

Deputies and Kentucky State Troopers are currently searching for the man who fled on foot off KY 293 near I-24. The offender is unknown to local law enforcement. 

The Sheriff's Office said they are utilizing a drone, officers in vehicles, and on foot, searching for this offender.

He is described as a white male, 5-11 to 6-01, wearing a green short sleeve shirt with a plain leather vest over it and blue jeans. He has long brown hair which was last seen in a ponytail configuration.

He was accompanied by a vicious brown/tan mix dog which reportedly attacked a deputy during an altercation with the offender.

The offender was last seen on foot running west on the East bound off ramp to I-24. He was previously a passenger in a vehicle which also fled the scene.

If anyone sees this offender, do not approach him but call 9-1-1.
