The Paducah Civic Beautification Board has begun preparations for the 61st Annual Dogwood Trail about a month from now.
The trail is usually open around the second week of April, but exact dates won't be announced until dogwood blooms begin making their appearance.
Paducah residents and businesses will light up and showcase the dogwood trees on their property. Locals and visitors will drive, walk and ride bikes along the 20-mile trail that winds through various Paducah neighborhoods.
Residents are asked to start preparations on their property so the city will shine with Dogwoods at night, and to be considered for several awards given out by the Paducah Civic Beautification Board.
Previous trail festivities have included trolley rides, the annual bike ride, and a student art contest.
The Board is also announcing some new additions to this year’s event including a Dogwood Trail Kick-Off Celebration at City Hall, as well as a link to go on a self-guided tour of the trail with a narrated history of some of Paducah’s oldest neighborhoods given by the Paducah Ambassadors.
