A multi-vehicle crash just north of Murray sent two people to the hospital and shut down US 641 for several hours on Saturday.
The crash happened at the intersection of US 641 North and Poor Farm Road/Pella Way. Kentucky State Police said that 22-year-old Zachary Jackson of Madison, West Virginia was riding a motorcycle along Poor Farm Road when he reportedly rode out into US 641. Jackson's bike entered the path and was hit by the southbound SUV of 44-year-old Jonathan Mathis of Hardin. Mathis' SUV crossed the median after the collision and hit a pickup driven by 74-year-old Sue Robinson of Hampton.
Jackson had to be flown from the scene to an out-of-state hospital due to the serious nature of his injuries. Mathis was transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for minor injuries. Robinson was not hurt.
KSP said that the crash is still under investigation.
