Union City man facing charges in Fulton, Obion counties

An investigation into a stolen propane tank led to charges in Fulton and Obion Counties for a Union City man.

According to KYTN, 36-year-old Corey Espeland was taken into custody after Fulton and Obion County deputies found him hiding behind a vehicle in Obion County.

The Fulton County Sheriff's Department said the investigation began on July 24th in Cayce after an attempted theft of a 500-gallon propane tank.

It was discovered on September 9th that the tank had been stolen, and Espeland was identified as a suspect.

Deputies located the stolen tank on a trailer in Obion County, and additional stolen items were found.

Espeland was taken into custody on a felony charge of theft out of Fulton County, and numerous charges in Obion County.
