The National Weather Service office in Paducah says increasing rain and storm chances will work their way into our forecast heading into the weekend.

The highest chances of rain for the next 7 days looks to occur Friday and Saturday. The first showers will move in this afternoon and overnight.

Temperatures will be near the normal of 86 today before cooling slightly Friday and over the weekend due to the cloud cover and rain chances.

There will be continued chances for showers and storms for much of next week, but with rising temperatures. Highs may hit 90 degrees by the middle of next week with our first chance at heat indices near 100.

Looking ahead, Paducah is about three weeks from its historically warmest period of the year. On July 2, Paducah's average temperature for the date reaches 90, and it will remain there until August 20 before it starts to dip.
