Princeton man arrested for violating registered sex offender restrictions

A Princeton man was arrested this weekend after authorities reportedly found him working at a community event in violation of state sex offender restrictions.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office posted that deputies were providing security at the “Bands on Barkley” event at the Kuttawa Recreation Area on Saturday when someone reported that a registered sex offender was working inside a mobile business trailer.

Deputies said they identified the worker as 59-year-old Jessie Sherrill, who is listed on the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry.

Authorities determined that Sherrill was operating the business within 300 feet of a public playground, a violation of his sex offender restrictions.

Sherrill was taken into custody and booked into the Crittenden County Detention Center.
