Paducah man arrested for assault

A Paducah man is in jail and another in critical condition following a Thursday assault.

Paducah Police said they received a call Thursday evening after a maintenance man at the Deluxe Inn was assaulted by a guest. Officers allegedly found the victim unconscious in a hallway with multiple head injuries.

They said the unidentified victim allegedly went to a room occupied by 34-year-old George E. Brown of Paducah to speak with him when Brown allegedly began assaulting him. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said Brown fled on foot but was later located on McGuire Ave, where he was arrested for assault and taken to the McCracken County Jail.
