Tennessee man arrested while trying to steal from Mayfield business

A Tennessee man was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly being caught stealing from a Mayfield business.

Mayfield Police were called to a business on North 12th Street Wednesday when the owner reportedly caught a man trying to steal items. When police arrived, they found 66-year-old James Plunk of Palmersville, Tennessee on the premises. Their investigation concluded that Plunk had taken some items and they were found in his possession. The items found were returned to the business owner.

Plunk was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking under $10,000 and criminal trespass. 

Police said that they are still investigating as there may still be items unaccounted for.
