A student at Lyon County Middle School has been charged after making threats toward another student and the school.
According to WPKY, Lyon County Sheriff Brent White said their investigation began about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, after reports that a 12-year-old male threatened to shoot another student and shoot up the school.
A deputy detained and interviewed the student as he arrived at the school. Additional interviews were conducted with other students, as well. Deputies also looked at surveillance video and determined that the alleged threats were made at school last week.
Sheriff White said that the Lyon County Attorney's Office was consulted before the student was charged with two counts of terroristic threatening. He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
The investigation is continuing.
