Wet weekend could bring two more inches of rain

A wet weekend will bring as much as two inches of rain to parts of the area.

By late Friday night, showers and a few thunderstorms will move into southeast Missouri, then numerous showers and some thunderstorms will spread across the entire region from Saturday into Sunday morning. 

A swath of total rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is most likely along and south of the Ohio River. Lesser amounts to about a half inch is expected further into southern Illinois and southeast Missouri.

Showers and a few storms will continue across west Kentucky and southwest Indiana on Sunday afternoon, with chances lingering in just mainly the Pennyrile region of west Kentucky Sunday evening.  No severe weather is anticipatedl

Dry conditions and lots of sunshine return for Veterans Day Monday, with a high of 72.
