Three people were charged after mail containing meth and Suboxone was intercepted before it was delivered to inmates at the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Detectives were contacted by a jail chief deputy who told them staff had intercepted the mail as it came into the facility.

According to the sheriff’s department, Mary Beth Crabtree of Kevil is accused of sending the mail to her incarcerated husband, Nathaniel Crabtree under the guise that it was legal correspondence from their attorneys. They said Crabtree used two different Paducah attorneys' names and addresses on the envelopes.

Kyle Courtney, who is also incarcerated, also reportedly received drugs through the mail from Crabtree.

Mary Beth Crabtree was arrested on Thursday. She was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and promoting contraband. Nathaniel Crabtree received the same charges on Friday.

Kyle Courtney of Benton was charged with promoting contraband.

Detectives said more charges and arrests are possible.
