A Marshall County man will appear in court next month in connection with a discharge of a weapon in Hardin on Wednesday.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office said Thursday 31-year-old Kyle A. Neal, who resides at the Hilldale Apartment Complex, turned himself in.
Neal admitted to investigators that while loading his firearm, there was an accidental discharge.
The round traveled through his apartment door and struck 31-year-old Zachary T. McAlpin of Puryear, TN, who was working at the complex as a subcontractor for WK&T.
The victim was taken by the Marshall County Ambulance Service then airlifted to Baptist Health Paducah.
Due to Neal's cooperation and after consulting McAlpin, investigators elected to cite Neal to court on a wanton endangerment charge.
Neal will appear in Marshall District Court on March 6.
