Ohio River to crest at Paducah on Wednesday

The Ohio River at Paducah has risen to 48 feet, and is forecast to crest at 48.5 feet on Wednesday afternoon.

The crest will not reach major flood stage, and will remain below the level of the floodwall gates on the Paducah riverfront.

The Ohio River will then begin to recede slowly at Paducah beginning on Thursday night.

At Cairo, the Ohio River crested last Sunday at 52.63 feet, just below major flood stage of 53 feet. It's currently receding very slowly at 52.3 feet. It will take until April 20 to fall below 52 feet.
