A Farley man is facing felony charges in connection to a stolen trailer thanks to the help of Ring video.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded Monday to a business in West Paducah on US 60 for a report of a stolen utility trailer. The victim reported that he had Ring video and pictures of a vehicle entering his parking lot, then leaving with his utility trailer on June 21st.

On Tuesday afternoon, the victim notified the sheriff's office that his trailer had been seen in the Park Avenue area, being transported by the same vehicle in the Ring video.

Paducah police stopped the vehicle at 8th and MLK, but the driver no longer had the trailer attached to his vehicle.

The driver was identified as 62-year-old Scott Durbin. Durbin was interviewed and ultimately taken into custody.

Durbin reportedly refused to tell deputies where he left the trailer, however, while on patrol two deputies found the trailer at a business in the Cairo Road and HC Mathis area. Police said Durbin had dropped the trailer off and asked the owner if it could be left there.

When the trailer's owner arrived, he was able to verify it was his trailer and got it back.

Durbin was charged with receiving stolen property and tampering with physical evidence.
