A Murray woman who faced eight years of jail time for taking $300,000 from an elderly woman's estate was granted shock probation Monday.

The Murray Sentinel reported Leslie Lockhart was granted  probation after putting up $100,000 of an $300,000 total imposed after she reached a plea agreement and was sentenced April 20th.

The prosecution did not oppose the shock probation but asked the court to reinstate monthly payments of $3,000 beginning August 1st which was granted.

The 54-year-old Lockhart was arrested in Feburary, 2025 after being accused of taking money from Maria Judy while working as a caregiver and helping with her financial accounts.

Lockhart was first charged with 23 counts of second-degree forgery, one count of theft by unlawful taking and one count of knowingly abusing or neglecting an adult; however, the abuse charge was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
