Ledbetter man arrested after being found lying off 641 in Marshall County

A Ledbetter man was arrested early Sunday after being found lying beside US 641 in Marshall County.

Deputies were called just before 1 a.m. Sunday to US 641 near Happy Hollow Road. A passerby saw someone wearing dark clothes lying beside the road. They found 63-year-old Bobby D. Thompson of Ledbetter and said he appeared to be under the influence of a substance other than alcohol.

Thompson was arrested and searched. Deputies reportedly found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on his person.

Thompson was charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia, along with public intoxication.
