Graves County stop lands pair in jail on drug charges

A traffic stop on Saturday landed a Graves County man and an Ohio woman in jail facing drug charges. 

Graves County Sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle for traffic violations along Sand Hill Road just after 5:20 p.m. Saturday. According to the report, the driver, 44-year-old Timothy Farris of Boaz, and the passenger, 40-year-old Ashley Pence of Amelia, Ohio, appeared to be impaired. A search is said to have uncovered methamphetamine, syringes, and other drug paraphernalia. Both were arrested.

Farris and Pence were both charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Farris was additionally charged with DUI and other traffic offenses. Pence will also face a charge of having a prescription controlled substance not in a proper container.

The two were taken to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center before being moved to out-of-county jails.
