A Mayfield man has been arrested after allegedly having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a minor.
Kentucky State Police opened their investigation back on March 5th after learning of contact between 39-year-old James W. King of Mayfield and a juvenile female via social media. Reportedly, the communications involved discussions of drug use and of “explicit sexual activity.” Investigators said the two planned a meeting on March 3rd in which King was supposed to pick up the girl, and the two then allegedly used drugs and engaged in sexual activity.
Troopers got a warrant for King on Tuesday. King was then arrested without incident at his home on Wednesday. King has been charged with unlawful transaction with a minor-illegal sex act victim under 16, unlawful transaction with a minor-illegal controlled substance victim under 16, rape, procurement or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means, possession of matter portraying the sexual performance by a minor, use of a minor in a sexual performance, and human trafficking-commercial sexual activity.
King was taken to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and transferred to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
