The National Weather Service in Paducah says we can expect all types of spring weather this weekend: severe weather, gusty winds, colder temperatures and even a chance for some light snow after the severe weather passes through the area.
Gusty winds between 30 and 35 mph are possible today with even stronger gusts, possibly exceeding 45 mph from Sunday into Monday.
The severe weather threat is increasing for Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening. A line of severe storms may move through the area, bringing widespread damaging winds and the possibility of a few spin-up tornadoes.
After the storms, much colder air arrives late Sunday night through Wednesday with single digit wind chill readings possible Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Light snow accumulations are also possible late Sunday night into Monday morning; however, most locations will see an inch or less, mainly on grassy/elevated surfaces.
