Man rescued after vehicle swept into Calloway County creek

A man was left uninjured after his vehicle was swept off the road and into a creek in Calloway County on Monday.

Calloway County Fire-Rescue was dispatched early Monday morning to the accident near the intersection of Backusburg Road and Cavett Road.

First responders were met by a bystander who said the vehicle was in the creek with the driver still inside.

The Swift Water Rescue Team and deputies made their way down the creek looking for the vehicle since it couldn't be seen from the road.

The vehicle was found about 200 yards down the creek and the driver was rescued through a side window.
