Madisonville man sentenced for producing and possessing child pornography

A Madisonville man has been sentenced in federal court following a conviction on child pornography charges. 

Court documents said that 46-year-old Steven Ray Buchanan was in possession of over 1,200 images plus 4 videos depicting child porn. He was also accused of taking pictures and videos of a pair of young girls in his home. Buchanan was sentenced to 29 years and six months for producing and possessing child pornography. Upon his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender, plus a lifetime of supervision. 

Buchanan is additionally ordered to pay restitution of $24,000 to the victims.

There is no parole in the federal system.
