A Thursday crash involving an SUV and a train just east of Madisonville claimed the life of a Providence woman. 

According to Kentucky State Police, the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Office was called to the crash after 4:30 p.m. Thursday at a railroad crossing along KY 70 eight miles east of Madisonville. KSP was then called in to assist in the investigation. Preliminary indications suggest that a westbound SUV driven by 37-year-old Roxana Allison of Providence collided with a Paducah & Louisville Railroad train at the crossing.

The Muhlenberg County Coroner pronounced Allison dead at the scene. 

KSP Accident Reconstructionists are continuing to investigate.
