Longtime Paducah radio broadcaster Frank Carvell passed away on Sunday at the age of 73.

According to his obituary, Carvell began his broadcasting career at the age of 15 at WMOK in Metropolis, then at WPAD in Paducah through high school. After high school, he worked at WDXR radio and TV until 1973 when he joined Bristol Broadcasting.

At WKYX, Carvell co-hosted "The Frank and John Show" with John Stewart for over 30 years. 

Carvell was also a teacher at Ballard County Middle School and Ballard Memorial High School, and he coached football at Reidland High School.

Carvell graduated in 1969 from Paducah Tilghman High School.  He was a graduate of Murray State University.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah at 120 Memorial Drive.
