The Ohio River is cresting this week after runoff moves through the region from heavy rains and snow last week.
The river has risen to moderate flood stage at Shawneetown, Paducah and Olmsted, and to minor flood stage at Golconda, Smithland and Cairo. It'll fall slowly for the rest of this week.
The river is forecast to fall below flood stage by Friday afternoon at Shawneetown and Paducah, and by Saturday afternoon at Olmsted and Cairo.
Rain this week in the region is expected to be less than a quarter inch and will not affect river levels.
