As of 10:30 this morning, traffic on I-69 has now resumed in both directions from I-24 in Lyon County to the I-69/I-169/Western Kentucky Parkway in Hopkins County.

After three days, flood waters from the Tradewater River finally dropped off of Interstate 69 in Hopkins County this morning. Crews have spent hours clearing flood debris, patching potholes and inspecting both bridges over the river.

All lanes of the interstate were blocked at 11 p.m. on Saturday after more than five inches of rainfall were reported in Hopkins County in a 24-hour period and the Tradewater River swelled to unprecedented levels near the interstate. KYTC finally blocked the interstate once water had covered the roadway.
