UPDATE:
Both lanes are now open at the scene of the semi crash. 

ORIGINAL STORY:
Interstate 24 westbound in Marshall County is blocked at the 28-mile marker after a crash involving a semi.

Traffic is backed up across the Tennessee River Bridge. 

The left-hand lane will be blocked intermittently as emergency crews continue cleanup efforts, which is estimated to take until after 2 p.m. to clear the scene.


Also, Kentucky State Police are passing along word from the Tennessee Department of Transportation about water along Interstate 24 on the Tennessee side of the state line.

The interstate remains open, although some water is reported to be on the roadway the Tennessee side of the line. 

TDOT is advising motorists to slow down as you leave Kentucky and enter Tennessee. Caution signs and an expanded police presence will be in place along I-24 near the state line.
