A landmark of downtown Paducah will soon begin a new chapter in its century-old story -- or ten stories.

The U.S. Bank building at 4th and Broadway has been sold to New Jersey-based Forst Contracting and Development Corporation, according to Sirk and Company Real Estate. Forst's plan is said to turn the 110,000 square foot building into a mixed-use development.

The 10-story building was constructed in 1911 for the City National Bank. It defined the downtown skyline as the tallest building in Paducah for 60 years, until the 19-story Jackson House was built in 1974.

It was later purchased by Citizens Savings Bank, and in the 1970s a 3-story annex was added. The two-acre property encompasses most of the city block.

The property had been on the market since March of 2024.
