A Graves County man and woman are in jail after being arrested for 38 counts of animal cruelty Friday afternoon.

The Sheriff's Office said deputies were notified of numerous dogs that appeared to be neglected at a home on KY 1124

When deputies arrived they said they found numerous dogs that appeared to be malnourished with no food or water to be found. The home was reportedly in bad shape and not a safe or healthy environment for the dogs. Many of the dogs needed emergency treatment for the shape they were in and some were chained up and appeared to have not been fed for some time. Animal control was called in to take control of the dogs.

The owners of the dogs, Charles Rodgers and Jennifer Vaughn, were arrested charged with 38 counts of cruelty to animals after they allegedly told deputies they had approximately 38 dogs and that none of which were up to date on Vaccinations.
