Four people were arrested Wednesday afternoon, including a fugitive following an investigation by the McCracken County Sheriff's Department into drugs and a shooting.

Sheriff's detectives were tipped off that the fugitive, 47-year-old Roger Burpo of Bowling Green, was in Paducah. Allegedly, Burpo had fled from a traffic stop by Paducah Police earlier in the week.

Detectives uncovered information that supposedly Burpo was staying in a house on Little Avenue, and were surveilling it when they saw Burpo come out and get in a car. They stopped the vehicle and arrested Burpo without incident. Reportedly, Burpo was in possession of methamphetamine and cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

According to the report, Burpo had been shot in the legs multiple times in an incident on January 9th and treated at a local hospital under an alias. Burpo allegedly told police that 37-year-old Brandon L. Spann of Benton had shot him at the Little Avenue home. The shooting was not reported to police.

Sheriff's detectives searched the home on Little Avenue and arrested the two people present, 40-year-old Crystal K. Brown and 38-year-old Chad W. Williams, as they reportedly found methamphetamines, a handgun, and a shell casing in the yard.

Evidence gathered was enough for an arrest warrant for Spann. He was taken into custody after a traffic stop on Irvin Cobb Drive. A search of his vehicle allegedly produced a handgun and marijuana.

Burpo was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, a federal probation violation warrant, a warrant out of McCracken County, and traffic violations.

Brown and Williams were charged with trafficking in meth. Brown was additionally charged with possession of marijuana. Williams was also charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Spann was charged with assault in connection to the shooting, as well as firearm-enhanced possession of marijuana and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
