Former Christian County Commonwealth Attorney Rick Boling was disbarred this week by the US Supreme Court following a series of professional misconduct allegations.

Reports indicate Boling was disbarred after failing to provide sufficent reasons within a 40 day deadline granted in February to contest the action.

Boling was first suspended from practicing law in Kentucky for five years by the Kentucky Supreme Court in 2023.

That suspension stemmed from multiple incidents of professional misconduct, including a pardon request to forner Governor Matt Bevin.

Boling had sought a pardon for Dayton Jones of Hopkinsville, who was convicted of sodomizing an unconscious teenage boy, a move that drew lots of attention.

Additionally, Boling faced sanctions for misleading a jury during an arson and manslaughter trial.

The controversies eventually led Boling to resign from his position to avoid impeachment by the Kentucky House.

Even though Boiling has been disbarred from practicing law in federal courts, he hasn't been disbarred in Kentucky.
