The very active and at times dangerous stormy weather will continue into the weekend.
Showers and storms last night produced 1 to 3 inches of rainfall across the Quad State.
A flood watch is in effect through Sunday morning for the entire area.
Another 6 to 10 inches of rainfall is forecast through Sunday, and a particularly dangerous flooding and flash flooding situation is expected. The additional rains will only make flooding happen more quickly when combined with the water already in ditches and streams from Wednesday's storms.
Today there's a marginal risk (level 2 out of 5) of severe storms across western Kentucky. Northwest Tennessee from Clarksville to Dyersburg will have an enhanced (level 3) risk for storms.
Friday's severe storm outlook is posted as a marginal risk for the entire region.
The latest rainfall forecast from the National Weather Service still includes up to a foot of total rain for much of the area. However, today's models are showing the area for the most extreme rain - up to 15 inches - has shifted to the south. It still includes Murray and Hopkinsville in that band, but the rest looks to be in northwest Tennessee.
