Mayor George Bray and the City of Paducah will soon be launching the Duke and Duchess Foundation of Paducah.
The Foundation, once operational and funded, will provide grants for nonprofits in western Kentucky. It will also provide an opportunity for those previously honored as Dukes or Duchesses to stay connected and contribute to the Paducah community.
Bray said, “We have a vast network of Duke and Duchess recipients who are committed to public service and philanthropy, and who closely identify with the city of Paducah. This Foundation will be able to multiply the efforts of local government by providing a network of connections and an economic path to philanthropy.”
To get started, Mayor Bray seeks to organize a group of city and county residents to finalize mission statements and by-laws, and create investment and grant guidelines. If interested, they may ultimately serve as the Foundation’s initial board members. Those with financial and nonprofit experience would be welcome.
Interested people should reach out to Mayor Bray by March 31. email at gbray@paducahky.gov by March 31.
