Construction to begin on new Calloway County bridge

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to replace a bridge over Clayton Creek on KY 121 in Calloway County.

Starting Friday, traffic will be diverted around the work zone between New Providence Road and Murray Paris Road, southeast of Murray.

The contractor will first remove the old bridge, built in 1932, and begin construction of a new bridge over Clayton Creek.

Work is expected to take about six months.
