Three injured in crash involving Paducah Police cruiser

A traffic accident Thursday on Lone Oak Road injured three people, including a Paducah Police officer.  

Paducah Police called in the McCracken County Sheriff's Office to investigate the accident near Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital around noon.

Several witnesses said a vehicle on Lone Oak Road did not attempt to slow down and disregarded the traffic light, striking the police cruiser that had the green light at Kennedy Road.  

The two drivers, and a Paducah Police Citizens Academy participant, were taken to local hospitals for evaluation.  

No major injuries were reported.
