A traffic stop in Calvert City ends with a drug possession charge for a Grand Rivers man.
The Calvert City Police Officer was patrolling the area of Airport Road on US 62 when they reportedly saw a vehicle with a registration plate that was not illuminated.
The officer attempted to make a traffic stop, while the operator of the vehicle allegedly tapped his brakes and could be seen reaching around in the vehicle. The operator slowed down but continued to travel some distance before stopping.
As the officer approached the vehicle the driver, 48-year-old Steven Jay Talley, reportedly could be seen reaching under his seat.
Talley was charged with operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
