Two Cairo men were arrested on charges of importing fentanyl into Paducah for sale.

The Paducah Police Department said that on Thursday, drug unit detectives received information that 39-year-old Leonard Duncan would be on Starke Avenue to sell fentanyl pills. When officers approached the vehicle, they said Duncan handed them a baggie full of fentanyl pills.

While searching the vehicle, detectives found an additional bag that contained cocaine, ecstasy and suboxone pills, along with a large amount of marijuana. Detectives also found $439 in cash that is believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

During the investigation, detectives learned 28-year-old Deionte Posey was aware Duncan intended to bring the pills from Cairo to Paducah to sell them. They said Posey was also in possession of marijuana at the time of his arrest.

Duncan's charges included importing fentanyl, and multiple counts of trafficking in a controlled substance.

Posey was charged with importing fentanyl and trafficking in a controlled substance.
