The National Weather Service office in Paducah is in the process of gathering data from Friday's winter storm. Here's a preliminary summary of how much snow fell across the Quad State:
Most of western Kentucky and southern Illinois received between 3.5 to 5 inches. The amounts vary due to the snow moving through in bands of varying intensity.
Southeast Missouri had the most snow overall, up to 8 inches in the Ozarks west of Poplar Bluff.
Southern Illinois also had a pocket of 7-inch accumulation west of Rend Lake toward Pinckneyville and Sparta.
The winter storm dropped snow from Texas and Oklahoma all the way to North Carolina. Some regional snow totals included:
Evansville - 3 to 4 inches
Nashville - 3 to 4.5
Little Rock - 10
Louisville - 3.2
St. Louis - 2.5 to 3.5
