A man in Pope County was taken to an out-of-state hospital after a collision with an electric company truck on a slick highway on Friday.
The crash happened around 8 a.m. on Friday morning just west of Golconda.
The Pope County sheriff reported that the driver was traveling on Highway 146 when his vehicle collided with an oncoming Southeastern Illinois Electric Cooperative truck.
Firefighters cut the man out of his vehicle and he was taken to a Paducah hospital, then transferred to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
