The ham from Ronnie Drennan was sold for $10 million Thursday morning at the the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. Central Bank and Kelly and Joe Craft joined together for the final bid, pledging $5 million each. The build doubled last year's record $5 million donation for another Broadbent ham.
The donation will go to support various charities in the state including boys and girls clubs, the Foundation of Appalachian Kentucky, and to build dozens of new homes for eastern Kentucky flood victims.
WKDZ reported that several of the Brennans' hams ultimately won in five different classes of competition, along with the eventual grand champion.
