Ballard deputy jailer charged with sexual contact with an inmate

A Ballard County deputy jailer was charged after an investigation into an inappropriate relationship with an inmate.

Kentucky State Police said they received a call on Monday, March 23, from the Ballard County Detention Center requesting an investigation into an inmate's report of sexual contact with a deputy jailer.

Troopers said a female inmate reported the allegations to jail staff on Wednesday, March 18, telling them the sexual contact happened in February.

After conducting interviews and a review of video footage, 60-year-old Robert Blair Terry of Arlington was charged with sexual abuse and official misconduct.
