A Cadiz man accused in a Caldwell County burglary on Monday is now facing charges of public intoxication and fentanyl possession after a series of events on Wednesday.
Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison told WPKY that police were called just before 3 p.m. about an allegedly intoxicated man at the Kentucky Department of Probation and Parole office. The man, 35-year-old Rexford Music of Cadiz, was arrested and charged with public intoxication and violating conditions of release.
Just before 6 p.m. while in the Caldwell County Jail, a deputy allegedly overheard Music telling another inmate that he had fentanyl on him in his cell. Police and jail officials searched Music and reportedly found the fentanyl in his pants.
Music was additionally charged with promoting contraband and possession of fentanyl. He and 27-year-old Andrea Brown of Swamp Branch are already facing charges related to the burglary from Monday.
