A free night of patriotic music is coming to Paducah.

The Paducah Symphony Orchestra posted that the United States Marine Band will perform a free concert at Paducah Tilghman High School on Wednesday, October 9.

Billed as "The President's Own," the orchestra was created by an act of Congress in 1798 with the sole mission to perform music for the President of the United States. It's America's oldest continuously active professional music organization that began touring across the nation in 1891 at the urging of its director, John Philip Sousa.

They've just embarked on a fall tour encompassing twelve states through October including stops in Paducah, Carbondale and St. Louis.

The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. You can get free tickets here .

If tickets run out, you are highly encouraged to use the standby line. Typically, patrons without tickets are still able to get into the concert when vacant seats are made available 15 minutes before the performance.
