Calloway and Caldwell counties complete the list of western Kentucky counties now under a burn ban warning.

Calloway County Judge Executive Kenny Imes issued the ban after most of western Kentucky has been downgraded to severe drought levels. The city of Murray also has a specific ban in place.

Caldwell County Judge Executibe Kota Young also signed an executive order Thursday prohibiting all outdoor burning in the county and in the incorporated areas of Princeton and Fredonia.

All of westernmost Kentucky is now effectively included in banning outdoor burning until further notice. While Lyon County is not officially on the state list of burn bans, the Kuttawa Fire Department has posted strong warnings against burning for several days, and LBL has posted that a high fire danger is in place.

The National Weather Service has indicated that drought conditions are not expected to improve over the next few weeks.
