Work to resume on KY 51/Ohio River bridge next week

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will continue a work zone lane restriction on the U.S. 51 Ohio River "Cairo" Bridge between Wickliffe and Cairo, IL next week.

Starting on Tuesday, a temporary traffic signal will be in place to control alternating traffic flow through the work zone. Delays are possible.

A crew has been replacing deck railing along the bridge since about Jan. 3.

The updated estimate of duration for this work zone has been extended for about 5 weeks, weather permitting.
