A Paducah man and a juvenile were cited to court after being spotted Friday morning on a door bell camera breaking into cars.

Paducah Police were patrolling near Navajo Drive when 18-year-old Caltaveion L. Smith of Park Avenue and a 16-year-old juvenile walking down the street and upon seeing officers fled into the woods.

While searching for them, officers received a Ring Public Safety notification showing the suspects entering a vehicle and stealing items.

The suspects were eventually found leaving the woods and were stopped. They were positively identified as the two people that were on camera breaking into cars.

Smith was cited for theft by unlawful taking from a vehicle and unlawful transaction with a minor.

The juvenile was cited for receiving stolen property, tampering with physical evidence and curfew violations.
